ATHLETICS IN PALESTINE
(N.Z.F.F. Official News Service). New Zealanders performed with considerable success at a United Services athletic meeting held in Palestine. Prominent athletes of many Allied countries competed, on a difficult cinder track. McHugli (Ch.ristchureh) won the 100 metres narrowly beating Masters (Auckland) who was running bare-footed. Time 11 2-10 sec. lie also won the 200 metres by several yards in 23 9-10 sec. OMivier (Christchurch) won the shot putt with lift 11 inches. Second place was gained by Boot (Christchtirch) in the *SOOO metres, the winner's time was 2mins 0 8-10 sec, being a Palestine record. Findlay (Hamilton) was second in the 400 metres, being beaten by a yard. Card;Weli was third in the l."> 00 metres and Weller was chird in the 300(1 metres, both events were run in record lime for Palestine.
