NAZI ARMAMENT PRODUCTION HEAVY DRAIN ON MANPOWER The heavy drain on German manpower due to the war Avith Russia has resulted, according to authorities on industrial Germany, in a decline in Nazi armament production of about 20 per cent during the past year., says, the United States newspaper P.M. It is estimated that of 19,000,000 Germans between the aged; of 18 and 48, about 8,000,000 arc in the army, and. 1,500,000 have been casualties, leaving only half of all German males of productive years to man war material factories. According to a Belgian correspondent in The Times, production has been held up for several weeks at tAvo factories in the area Vilvorde near Brussels by the destruction of an electrical sub-station. Though this was guarded; day and night, saboteurs got over the Avails and placed large quantities of explosives at a vulnerable place. One of the factories affected' is requisitioned by Krupps for testing aeroplane engines I and making pecision tools, and the 'other is a branch of Renault.
