Notes Taken in Court
A strong warning that none but counsel or newspaper reporters v.cu'cl be permitted to take notes in the Magistrate's Court was given by Mr E. C. Levey, S.M. when he made a statement to this effect before' several cases dealing with military defaulters Mere called in Hamilton. "It been reported to the Court that notes are being taken o.f evidence and other statements made in Court (n the hearing of these cases," said the magistrate. "I want to make it known clearly and definitely that except by counsel and duly authorised representatives of the press no notes may be taken. If they are taken it will lie treated as a serious breach, and I will deal with it sharply." '
