HAPPY EDGECUMBE PARTY

MISS BELL HONOURED

A most delightful eoming-of-age birthday party was given last Saturday evening by Mr and Mrs E. A. Bell at their home, Edgccumbe, in honour of their daughter, Mass Hera Bell. Mrs Bell received her guests wearing a charming figured frock and Miss Bell looked most attractive in a frock of dusky pink and shoes to match. The drawing room was beautifully decorated with pink dahlias and fern. The evening was spent in games and competitions. Mrs King played accompaniments for community singing. Two delightful vocal solos were rendered by Miss: Bell, and much enjoyed vocal duets were given by Mrs Bell and Mrs Yardley. The supper tables were decorated with pink dahlias and asparagus fern, the lovely white and green birthday cake took pride of place, it being decorated with 21 candles, little white doves, angels and a silver horse shoe 1 . Mr Ivenyon in most appropriate words, wished the guest of honour a very happy birthday and many more. The usual toasts followed aft«r which Mr Bell presented his daughter with the traditional gold kev.

Mr Kenvon on behalf of all present thanked Mr and Mrs Bell for the pleasant evening, and all .joined in singing Auld Lang Sync. Miss Bell received many beautiful and valuable gifts.
