WAIMANA NOTES
WOMEN'S INSTITUTE GARDENING CIRCLE There was a good attendance of members at the monthly meeting of the Waimana-Nukuliou W.I. gardening circle held at Mrs Woolfieltl's home last Wednesday afternoon. Mrs fohn Addison presided. After the minutes were read, a discussion on the planting of vegetables at the present time followed. A. competition arranged by Mrs Wool field, was won by Mrs King, During the' afternoon. Mrs Woolfield on behalf of the members, pre-y sented Mrs Addison (the president) 1 and Mrs Mannicn (secretary) with most beautiful' posies, in appreciation of work done in the past year for the gardening circle. Mrs Addison and Mrs Mannion both suitably responded. The competitions for the day were: Floating bowl, Mrs King 1; Mrs Wylde 2: Mrs Wocilfield 3. Best flower, Mrs Stevenson 1; Mrs Woolfield 2; Mrs Mitchell 3. Best vegetable. Mrs Woolfield 1, Mrs Mitchell 2; Mrs Wylde 3. The hostesses, Mrs Stevenson and • Mrs Wylde, served a dainty afternoon tea. Mrs Woolfield distributed / Iris bulbs to all members. Mrs Addison thUnited Mrs Woolfield for the pleasant afternoon.
