-» THE PATRIOTIC APPEAL 1 FURTHER LIST FORWARDED 1 A correspondent seeking to a more definite light on the amount collected at Waimana for the Pat- L* rictic Fund Apeal has written in as follows: — "The contributions to the Wai-mana-Nukuhou district towards the All Purposes Apeal as published in the 1 Beacon, falls £111 3s lOd short of the actual figures. These residents live in the Eastern part of the. above district and are connected, to the local exchange by telephone and are served by rural mail, bread, groceries, meat, etc. from Waimana township. This list of subscribers is as follows-:— Mr and Mrs H. S. Holmes £10; Mr and Mrs C. P. Ryan £10; Anonymous £9" 17s 6d; Mr and, Mrs Jas. Black £5; Miss Mary Black £3; Master Dick Black £2 10s; Master Dennis Black £2; Mr and Mrs W. Elag,le R. B. Cain and Sons £5; E. Stevens^■' £2 10s; O. Donnelly £3; Mr and Mrs T. Tuile £5; T. Tuite- Jnr. £1; S. Mottram £5; G. Robinson £5; C. Robinson £2 14s 4d; R. and J. Robinson 10s; Mrs C. Ross £1; R. Woolfield £5; R. Proffit £2; Mrs Proffit £1; Mrs Rayner ss; Mrs H. Tipping £3 3s; M. This makes an extra of £111 3s lOd, and should be credited to the Waimana-Nukuhou list already published. It may also be mentioned ' that during the first five days of the Bonds for Bombers period, Waimana * subscribed over £2000 and, then the Post Office ran out cf forms. When the new supply of forms arrives, Waimana will have got its second wind. The flag flying at the masthead at the Post Office has now become so commonplace, that people do not notice it. The children's contribution in the collection of bottles etc. now amounts to £20. f
