ON THE LOCAL GREENS
On Saturday a novelty tournament was held in place of the ordinary draw, each player skipping 5 heads. The majority of members entered into the spirit of the game and enjoyed the change. Murphy, Oswald, Canning and Luxton tied with L. King, J. Bell, Pearson and Shaw and in the play off the former team won. The trophies were generously donated by Messrs W. Howat and S. McLeod. Dereeourt, McLeod, Bigelow, and King 22 beat Jackson, Hyland, Dixon and Marsh 16; O'Rourke, Shapley, Francis and Patterson 19 beat Smith, Bullartl, Creeke and Mclsaac 35; Whitehead, Salmon, Bell and Loane 18 beat Grace, Darvill, White and Currah 14; Murphy, Oswald, Canning and Luxton 25 beat Wilson, Henderson, Healy and Howat 16; H. S. King. J. Bell, Pearson and Shaw 25 beat Otley, McMillan, Hellvar and Burgess 15; McKenzie, Boon, Drube and Baxter 21 beat Bennett, Boon, Tippett and Littlejohn 17. Final: Murphy, Oswald, Canning and Luxton 10 beat King, Bell, Pearson and Shaw 2. Smith Stars: Bennett, O'Rourke, Dixon, Drube (holders) 19 lost to Darvill, Pearson, Howat, King 20.
