MATATA WOMEN'S INSTITUTE

The Matata Women's Institute held its monthly meeting on March; 25. Mrs Magee presided over a good attendance. After routine business the annual meeting followed and; Mrs Caverhill in a very appropriate speech thanked those holding office and the members for a very successful year. Mrs Ansell then presented bouquets to the president, treasurer and secretary while Mrs Wlthv a. similar presentation to the competition secretary. The following officers were elected for the ensuing year: President, Mrs Magee: vice-presidents, Mrs H. Withy and Mrs Ansell; treasurer, Mrs H. Withy; secretary, Miss.Burt and also eight members of the committee. Competition secretary, Mrs Schick, Mrs H. Withy as a Y. 0., gave l a most interesting talk on Institute affairs. \ Competitions resulted: 'Best flower. Mrs Smith 1; M;rs Ansell 2., Plum jam, Mrs CreekeU; Mrs Ansell 2. Flour Bag, Mrs Ansell 2. Afternoon tea was served by the hostesses Mrs Creeke and Mrs Cummings.
