BENES' MESSAGE TO YUGOSLAVS
President Benes cabled King Peter of Yugoslavia expressions of the deep sympathy felt by all Czechoslovaks, best wishes to the Yugoslav army. He said-: "I know that the Yugoslav people will remain undaunted in their great ordeal andj will overcome all the sufferings of war with the heroism which was manifested in the last Avar. As we did in 1918, we shall again (defeat the common enemy." In the Yugoslav provinces of Slavonia and Banat, now overrun by the Nazi, mechanised troops, live (50,000 Czechoslovaks, who settled in that district about 80 years ago and who belong to the most prosperous farmers of that region.
