GOVERNMENT'S POLICY THE LABOUR PROBLEM During a general discussion at the last exeeutiA'e meeting of the Auckland Farmers' Union on the question of supervising the holdings of farmers who haA'e gone to the Avar, Mr J. 11. Furniss Avarned members that there Avas already an unofficial movement to form a board to organise this Avork —work that Avould ultimately come 011 lo the individual farmer. "No committee," continued Mi' Furniss, "set up by the Government will guarantee to supervise labour, find supervision Avithout trained labour is impracticable. The formation of a board Avill simply mean a fresh expense, further Government Interference, Avith the farmer 'carrying the baby at the finish."
