MANAWAHE NOTES
SOLDIERS FAREWELLED Although only short notice was given, the residents of Manawalie assembled at the hall on February 27 to> aid farewell to Pte Jack Rimmer. Mr Habgood, on behalf of the people, presented Pte Rimmer with a fountain pen. Music was kindly supplied by Miss Joan Mikkelsen and Mr Stuckberry. Vocal items were given by some visitors. The public again gathered on 6th March to give a sent off to Pte Len Rendall who is shortly leaving for overseas. Mr Miacpherson presented Pte Rendall with a funtain pen and conveyed to him the good wishes of the people of Manawahe. Music for the dance was supplied by Messrs Stuckberrjr and Penny. Sports Club On Saturday February 28, the club assembled for another evening., The games went with a swing and an enjoyable time Avas had by all.
