FARM MANAGEMENT
GOVERNMENT POLICY
During a general discussion at last Executive meeting of the Auckland Farmers' Union on the question of supervising the holdings of farmers who have gone to the war Mr J. H. Furniss warned members that there was alreadj* an unofficial movement to form a board to organise this work; work that would ultimately come to the individual farmer. "No committee," continued Mir Furniss. "set up bj' the Government will guarantee to supervise labour, and supervision without trained labour is impracticable. The formation of a board avi 11 simply mean a fresh expense, further Government interference, witii the farmer carrying the baby at the finish."
