CALF JUDGING

RANGITAIKI PLAINS CLUB

Early in December last year the country schools of this district were visited by the judges, Messrs N. Carter, J. Bryant and J. R. Murray and some excellent parades took place. A total of approximately 180 calves and yearlings were judged, the standard comparing very favourably with that of previous years. The president of the club, Mr H. J. Ryde, accompanied the judges over the greater part of the area, both he and Mr Garter addressing the pupils at several centres. It is not possible to publish the names of all of those who reared and paraded calves but the following lists contain the names of the chief entrants. Prizes are awarded to the winners in each school w T hile trophies are gained by those schools-at which the champion calves were presented.
