EXPORT OF SHEEP
SOUTHDOWNS TO AUSTRALIA During the past two years not many Southdowns have been exported to Australia, as for the time beSouthdowns in that country have been rather overshadowed by tlie larger breeds. Messrs Wright, Stephenson and Co. Ltd. advise, however, that they have recently 'shipped to New South Wales a highclass stud Southdown ram bred in the Kohatu Stud ef Mr R. M. Perry, lUasterton. This ram, a very solid and evenly lleshed sheep, is intensely bred to the prepotent sire Ford Christian, as both his sire and hjS dam were by the imported ram. His sire, Kohatu 7-1, was one of the best breeding sons of Ford Christian. Uuth of Ihe top priced rams at the Wairaiapa Stud Fair recently, sold on behalf of Mr K. M. Perry at 185 and 2:10 gns each respectively to Messrs W. C.imlett, Hastings, and K- Da'ziel). Palmerston North, were ;j!so si led by sons of Ford Christian.
