CRITICAL STAGE REACHED

DEMANDS OF THE ARMY

At a special meeting of the Motu-eko-Riwaka branch of the Farmers* Union held to discuss the question of relieving the shortage ol" labour on farms, the following resolution was carried unanimously:— ''Farmers in the Motueka and Riivaka districts feel that the relationship between the primary producer and the military services has drifted to a critical stage in recent months and that the country is rapidly finding itself unable to provide -lie normal requirements in foodstuffs.
