PERSONAL
Mr C. C. Southey, who for the past ten years has been headmaster at the Whakatane School, is shortly to leave to take up duty as headmaster of the Tauranga school. Present at Friday's meeting of the Whakatane Harbour Board were Messrs W. R. Boon, R. Ruddick, G. A. Brabant, C. T. Smith, Wm. Hunt.er, Richardson, C. Tickner, G. R. Kent, ,Mr "C. G. Lucas (secretary) and Captain G. H. Brebner (engineer). Mr W. Sullivan, M.P., entertained about fifty guests at a dinner held at the Commercial Hotel on Saturday night the occasion being to honour his son, Sgt. Pilot Michael Sullivan, R.N.Z.A.F. Employees of Messrs Boon, Sullivan, Luke Ltd. who formed the majority of those present extended their best wishes to their fellow worker who was also made the recipient of a presentation. Amongst the guests were Sgt. Pilot Bruce Clark and Seaman T. Shearer.
