HORSE FAIR
PRICES AT OPOTIKI
Messrs Dalgety and Company, Limited, report having held a Horse Fair at Opotiki in conjunction with the New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Co., Ltd. There was a good yarding of all classes, of horses included, but there were no outstanding quality horses offered. There was a large and representative attendance of local buyers. Competition was animated and though lower than expected the majority of horses offered changed hands. The total number being 112.
Quotations: Unbroken hacks 7gns to lOgns;. inferior sort 2gns to sgns; draught broken, aged £15 to £24; draught medium sort £10 to £12: draught medium, aged £10 to £12; draught inferior sort £7 to £9; hacks £8 to £10; hacks, medium sort £5 to £7; hacks, aged and inferior £2 to £4.
