Growth at Standstill

The pastures at present appear to be practically at a standstill, due to the lack oif rain and cold winds from the west and south. The grass in many places is being to burn up. A good soaking rain is badly needed as; the district has not had a heavy fall for about two months and the soil is dry to a considerable depth.
