TO CARRY ON
PIPE BAND DIFFICULTIES
MANY MEMBERS LEAVE.
Faced with increasing difficulties, the Pipe Band which has during the war years been fortunately able to function in spite of the steady drain upon its members, i ! s now compelled to curtail its activities owing to the petrol cut. At a special meeting last Monday evening, however, it was decided to make every effort possible to carry 011, even though the nucleus of the band' wouild comprise town dwellers only.
Seven members arc already serv
ing overseas, two more recently entered camp, and three further playing members will be eligible lor the forthcoming ballot. The result in a short time will be drastic Irom the band's point of view but those remaining have every intention of doing their best to maintain practices ami to attend parades.
