Cattle and Sheep Movement

A record number of cattle has passed through the district in the past twelve months. The number is probably twice that of any previous year, and mobs of cattle from the Poverty Bay and East Coast districts right throughout the year. Several mobs of sheep have passed towards the railhead at Taneatua in the last week Oil - two and the main sheep movement should take place in the next two months., No indication has yet been given of the number likelv to go to the Rotorua and Waikato districts this season and the calling up of so many men for military service this month may interfere with the annual movement of stock.
