PERSONAL

Word has been received by Mr and Mrs A. O. Stewart, the Pa, Whakatane, that their son 2nd Lieut D. O. Stewart who was wounded some weeks ago in Libya has been discharged from hospital.

Leading Aircraftsman Keith Claris, who was, killed in an air crash neat Belnheim last week, was a nephew of Mr M. W. C. Claris, commander of the Awakeri Home Guard. A sad coincidence is that deceased's elder brother was killed when an aeroplane in which he was a passenger crashed at Great Barrier Island three years ago. Thus his parents, Mr and Mrs W. H. Claris, of Wellington, have lost their two sons in air crashes in New Zealand.
