Picture in New Zealand Wood's We have been handed an interesting document in the form of a descriptive catalogue printed in this country over seventy years ago, and now the property of Mrs W. J. Simons of McLean's Road. The catalogue refers to a wood-piece picture constructed by a Mr J. R. Dry, of a sea and landscape from entirely New Zealand woods. The name given the picture which showed a fully rigged ship asail, was the 'Evergreen' ami it was composed of 4000 pieces of timber. It took four years to construct and was entirely unstained. Nineteen different kinds of wood were utilised and from the description the picture must have -been something of a very remarkable* nature.
