PUBLIC NOTICES WHAKATANE BOROUGH -EMERGENCY PRECAUTIONS SERVICI REDUCED LIGHTING The following summary of instructions for reduced lighting is hereby issued pursuant to Regulations and orders in that behalf Prompt and continuous observance is essential. 1. All outside lights to be effectively shrouded or preferably removed. 2. Windows. (a) Facing sea to have blinds of heavy material drawn on all nights. (b) All other windows —Blinds of usual material to be provided and drawn on all nights. Alternative covering may be provided. (c) In all cases skylights and fanlights to be effectively screened. 3. All premises to provide at least one room completely blacked out for use during an actual emergency. Under emergency conditions a total and complete blackout will prevail. 4. No vehicles to be left standing with any light showing which is directly visible from the open sea. 5. I'n an emergency all vehicle lights to be immediately extinguished,, vehicles to be parked off roadway find out of way of traffic. 6. No lights in shops or shop windows or elsewhere shall be left on timeswitch control. Where there is no person in attendance on the premises to operate Switches all lighting shall remain switched off.
