THRILLS IN THE AIR
If your air-nerves can stand it and you want to know what it feels like to hurtle towards the earth at the dizzy speed of 500 miles per hour, go to see the new sky thriller, "Power Dive." Here's what to watch for if you want to get all the thrills the test pilot gets when he's testing a dive bomber. The main strain of diving comes during those fleeting seconds when there's a question of whether or not the ship can take it. Notice how terrific the vibration is. If you look and listen carefully, you can detect that the motor has speeded up far beyond normal; that the wings and tail surfaces arc put through a punishing test; to prove their ability to overcome fatal "fluttering," the furious wind's strain on the wires and the Insli of tlic piopeller.
GRAND AND THRILLS ON THE GROUND A real thriller is Paramonnt's "The Monster and the Girl." It featuies an excellent cast including Ellen Drew, Robert Paige, Paul Lukas, Joseph Calleia, Onslow Stevens, George Zucco, Rod Cameron, Phillip Terry, Marc Lawrence and Gerald Mohr. Piling eerie thrill upon thrill "The Monster and the Girl" tells the story of a man unjustly executed for murder, whose brain, kept alive by a brilliant scientist is transplanted to the skull of a gorilla. The dead man's brain flaring with hate against six false accusers, directs the gorilla in wreaking horrible vengeance.
