A woman took a basket of eggs to market. Just as she Avas about to. enter the market she Avas knocked down by a car. Although the woman Avas not hurt at all every egg in the basket Avas broken. The owner of the car at once of-< fcred to pay for the damage, and he nsked her how many eggs she had in the basket. She couldn't remember the number, antl all she could call to mind was that if she counted them by tAvos, threes, fours, lives and sixes there Avas ahvays one over. When the eggs AA'ere counted by sevens none remained. The man in the car Avas rather good at figures, and after a little thought he told the woman she must have had 301 eggs.
