THROUGH FENCE TO STRIKE HOUSE

EXCITEMENT IN DOMAIN ROAD

First striking a stationary vehicle, another car proceeding from town along Commerce Street at about 5.15 on Saturday afternoon swung away at a right angle crossed the 1 footpath, mounted ia. low stone fence and l careered across the lawn in front of Misis Harris' residence, to came to rest against the house. Fortunately the stationary car was unoccupied, no pedestrians were abrest of the house, andi the only injuries resulting - were received' by a passenger in the car out of control and were of a minor nature. The police wove quickly on the scene and locating the driver effected an arrest. As a result Wm, James Proffit will appear at the local court this morning. The injured man Mr Becker was taken to the local hospital, but left considering his injuries of a minor nature. The owner of the stationary car was Mr Leslie George McKenzie, a baker, of Taneatna, who stated that he saw from the front room of the house, the other car career across the lawn and felt the house shake as it Avas struck. The stationary car was with the impact swung to completely reverse its direction and considerable damage was done.
