OTAKIRI MEETING
The November meeting of the Otakiri Women's Institute was held in the Otakiri Ball on November 5. Mrs Tickncr presided over 22 members and friends. An invitation from Taneatua Women's Institute to their birthday party was received. A 'letter was read from Robert Elvered thanking us for the parcel he had received. After discussion it was decided that the scrap books being made by members For the December competition, should be sent to the Mission for Lepers. Musical Arms was won by Mrs Armstrong. The Roll; Call nn Irish Joke caused much amusement. The competition winners were r Vase of red, white and blue flowers, Mrs Whiteside 1, Mrs Tickner 2, School 3. Best laundered shirt, Mrs Mackrell 1, Mrs Winters 2, Mrs Tickner 3. Best flower, Mrs G. Murray 1, Mrs Tickner 2. and 3. After afternoon tea served by Mrs Tickner all joined in a community sing of Irish songs.
