VACANCIES FILLED BY APPOINTMENT MEMBERS SELECTED BY COUNCIL

To fill a vacant sealt ofti each of the Whakatane Harbour Board, Bay of Plenty Hospital Board and the Bay of Plenty Electric Power Board caused by the death of the late Mr J. W. Sumner, the County Council yesterday made appointments. The first two vacancies were filled without an election as follows: — Harbour Board: Mr Wnn. Hunter. Hospital Board: Mr Alan B. Barr (Mr T. G. H. Cawte withdrew his nomination in favour of Mr Blarr). An election was necessary in regard to the Power Board! seat Messrs D. S. Rad'cliffe and Robert Wilson being: nominated 1 . Mr Radcliffe was elected.
