PATRIOTIC DANCE
OTAKIRI EVENT The Otakiri Patriotic Committee held another of its monthly dances ; on Tuesday, November 11, and this proved one of the most popular , functions yet held. A large attendance Avas present, A'isitors coming from all parts of the district, a free bus being run from Whakatane. ! During the evening several novl elty dances were held, the winners being: Monte Carlo Waltz, Miss McDonald and Mr McConachie; Lucky Spot Foxtrot, Mr I. Moore and partner; second Monte Carlo, Miss Skiffj Jngton and partner. The Avinner of the competition for a box of chocolates AA r as Miss A. ' Sykes, of Taneatua. ■* A. Wardhnv's Victory Boys' Band 5 proA-idcd splendid music which AA 7 as a feature of the evening's entertain--1 ment. An item by the Whakatane ' "Hillbilly" Band Avas much enjoyed by all present and songs sung b}' ■' Miss Raymond brought loud applause Supper Avas served by the coms mittee and many Avilling helper; ■ after Avhich dancing continued unti - the small hours of the morning. 1?
