HALF BROTHER TO BEAU LEON
Making his first appearance in public with the colours up was Fox Brae, by Foxbridge—Lady Bede, in the Tamahere Stakes at Te Rapa. Although no match on the occasion for Sleepy Fox he ran second, beating other juveniles and appears to be a good racing proposition. UNDOUBTED BRILLIANCY In the Tamahere Stakes, of four furlongs, Sleepy Fox, a full brother to the well performed Noble Fox, was the only one of the 34 acceptors that was spiritedly backed. First away from the barrier he quickly opened up a big break and won easing He is trained by F. Smith, at Takanini, who has the Foxbridge colt in the pink of form. A SOLID GALLOPER Aurora's Star, third in the Hamilton Handicap, is a six year old bay mare by Vaals. from Aurora Borealis. She is owned by Mr J. J. Waller, of Palmerston North, and trained by him at Awapuni.
