WINTER SHOW BUILDINGS
Sir, —Much interest seems to be shown in our Winter Show Building again. Your leader following re. marks made by Mr Spring, as pub« •lished in your paper should bring some light on a few points of in* terest to many at this stage pf new interest. We again get the samd old cry from the same people, the costs are too high, where will the money come from. Let someone now come forward and give a little of its past history . on the point at issue, regarding combined grounds and buildings seeing Ave have new interest in these mat- ' ters of combined effort, for the good of all. Have we forgotten the Mon-« ster Queen Carnival by Maori ajid • Pakeha to raise money, the oblect being to combine the the one site. The date of this Carnival would be of interest. Did a few of our present Winter Show committee use every effort they could to get the A. and P. Show on its present site? As the money was raised by a common ef~ " fort, for a common cause, we should at least at this stage, have the.fol-»~ lowing points laid upon the table. What amount of money was raised by the said Queen Carnival after expenses had been paid? What portion was held in trust by the Winter Show Committee? What interest the money has earned up to date? Perhaps some person more able than I could follow up these points. I again thank you. Yours etc., HARRY CARR*
