FAREWELL AFTERNOON
W.D.F.U. HONOURS MISS
GREENUP
Awakeri W.D.F.U. met on Friday afternoon to bid farewell to Miss Greenup, one of the pioneer settlers of this district and a foundation member of the branch. A social afternoon had been arranged and the hall was very artistically decorated and quite transformed.
Miss Greenup for many years acted as Librarian, a capacity she very ably filled. The number of members and visitors present was evidence of the popularity Miss Greenup has enjoyed. Mrs Brizzle, on behalf of members and friends, wished Miss Greenup restored health and much happiness in her new locality, and asked her to accept the Division Emblem which would remind her of happy days spent in the district. A very dainty basket of flowers was then handed to Miss Greenup, who expressed her appreciation and thanks.
A very enjoyable afternoon tea was served by hostesses, Mrs Luxton, Miss H. Luke aind Mrs McKenzie.
Competition result's were as follows: Book competition, Mrs C'. Wilson. Best vegetable collection, Mrs Maunder 1, Mrs H. Luke 2, Mrs Bowers 3. Best flower, Mrs Bowers 1, Mr? Maunder 2, Mrs L. Wilson 3.
