BAY OF PLENTY SEAT
NATIONAL PARTY ATTITUDE
It was stated to-day by Mr El. C. East, Secretary of the Bay of Plenty Electorate Committee of the National Party, that no decision had yet been made as to whether the Party would contest the forthcoming by-election. Mr S. G. Holland, Leader of the Party, had previously arranged to visit Opotiki during his North Island tour on Monday next, and opportunity would then be taken by the Electorate Committee to discuss the position with the Leader.
Members of the National Party deeply regret the untimely death of Lieutenant Hultquist, who was personally very popular with his political' opponents and was an indefatiguablc worker in the interests ot his Electorate.
