The Theatres

REGENT

This thing called laughter is here in abundance! This thing called romance is all over the place! This thing called entertainment sparkles so gaily, you'll adore . . .r you'll love ... "This Thing Called Love"! It's so nice . . . but definitely . . . "This Thing Called Love"! And especially when its practiced by those experts d'amour . . . Rosalind Russell and Melvyn Douglas . . .v in their first uproarious appearance together. Supporting the co-stars is an all-comedy cast which includes Binnie Barnes, Allyn Joslyn, Gloria Dickson, Lee J. Cobb, Gloria Holden Paul McGrath, Leona Maricle and Don Beddoe. GRAND SINGING AND DANCING With an opportunity to feast the eyes on an assemblage of some of the most beautiful girls in the world, and to hear merry music that would delight even a tin ear, one naturally doesn't want his view blocked, or the music dulled, with too much plot. Happily, Paramount used discretion and wisdom when it filmed "A Night at Earl Carroll's." The title should be enough to tell you there are gals a-plenty in it—all hand-picked by the dean of beautyappreciation, and, thankfully, the producers have seen to it that the. plot doesn't weigh like a milestone around those lovely necks —and on one's patience, too. There's just enough of it to provide ingenious excuses for Earl Carroll to present the lovelies, singing and dancing.
