WIN FOR TANEATUA
McCREADY BATS WELL
A win on the first innings was registered by Taneatua when they met the P. and T. Xl' on the Taneatua ground at the week-end the margin being a comfortable one of 12 and due to an excellent knock by W. McCready who rattled on 56. His score included two sixers and four fours.
P. and T. hatted first and com, menced well with Keepa and Rigdcn putting on 45. However, both went at about the same time and the third wicket fell with the telegraph reading 49—3—0. Chard settled down but received no support the tail being a long one indeed. Rawson was the destructive trundler bagging six wickets for 24 runs in six overs.
With 86 to make Rawson and McGready opened for Taneatua. With 20 nn'the board Rawson put his pads in front of one from Chard in the fifth over bowled and was given out. McCready carried on with A. Martin, who departed with 39 the total. Doolan joined McGrcaclj 7 " and the total required was reached before he Avas returned to the pavilion. The side continued to carry the score to 124. CENTRAL DEFEATS PAROA The wicket match played between Central and Paroa at the Whakatane Domain resulted in a comfortable win lor Central on the, first innings. Central started well with Miller and IVlagce compiling 31 runs for liist wicket. After luncheon Paroa were soon dismissed making only 25. Webby and Phillips bowling well for Central, 4 wickets for 3 runs and 4 wickets for 9 respectively. In the second innings Central went for a clip making -•"> I° l ' () wickets declared.
