STATE ADVANCES
"A SOULLESS CORPORATION"
Strong comment on the methods of the State Advances Corporation were voiced at the last Executive meeting of the Auckland Farmers' Union, when the following remit from Northern Wairoa came up for consideration: "That the action of the State Advances Corporation towards rural mortgagors should be investigated with particular reference to the following: (a) Refusal to renew without a reduction of mortgage:, (b) requirements of dairy orders.
Mr Sexton said it appeared thai the whole endeavour of the Department was to get the farmer absolutely tied to them hand and foo! The remit was carried unanimous ly.
