Webb (an officer of the Soil Conservation Seiwice of Texas), in the magazine "Soil Consciwation," published by the United States Department of Agriculture. "Wise land use has a moral and spiritual value," declares Mr Webb. "Soil conservation giAes new life to riA'al communities and their churches. "People avliosc lands are productiA'e, whose income is sufficient to proA'idc them AA r ith the necessities of life and avlio find hope and opportunity in their lands and their markets, are more able to support their churches, their schools and their other community enterprises. There is a feeling of security and peace AvhicJi comes to the man Avhose land pays him Avell for good steAVardship.
"I'll the Bible it is said: 'But they shall sit every man under his vine and under his fig tree; and none shall make them afraid.'"
Mr Webb quotes evidence given by heads of churches in support of his statement.
