WAR MEMORIAL MUSEUM
Sir, —I was pleased to note the evident interest being taken by the Minister of Internal Affairs in the suggestion for the foundation of a War Memorial Museum. For that reason I think that an effort should be made to collect actively" at once. I heard it mentioned that there existed still the grinding wheel of the first Hour mill. Is this a fact, and can this wheel be taken into safe custody before it is broken up into road metal or something equally, as uninteresting. May I enquire if something of a suitable design has yet been suggested. Yours etc., OLD TIMER. (A small committee has been set up by the Chamber of Commerce for the purpose of collecting future exhibits but to date there has been no actual plan of the building drawn up. The mill wheel is we available. Ed.)
