OBITUARY
MRS L. L. M. BROWN
The death occurred on Friday last of Mrs Leila • Laura Marguerite Brown, wife of Mr J. Brown, Mayor of Te Puke. The deceased lady was the youngest daughter of the late C. E. and Mrs Brewer, and was born at Waitotara 54 years ago. She was married to Mr Jonathan Brown, son of the late Mr Jonathan -Brown, of Welcome Bay, at Rotorua 34 years ago and has lived at Te Puke since her marriage.
The late Mrs Brown, during the Great War period, was very active in patriotic work, but owing to invalidity in the last four years she has not lately been able to take anj active part in social work.
She is survived by her husband and daughter, Mrs G. Farmer, of Whakatane, and her mother, Mrs Brewer, who has lived with her for many years. The funeral, which took place on Saturday afternoon, was one of the biggest ever held in Te Puke, the cortege being followed by a large and representative gathering of citizens.
