TOMKINS, 15/10/41 Acting County Engineer COUNTY OF WHAKATANE CHARGES FOR WATER SUPPLY Notice is hereby given that the Whakatane County Council has made application for the issue of an Order-in~Gouncil pursuant to section 85 'of the Municipal Corporations Act, 1933, authorising that Council to fix water charges according to the quantity used, but subject to the restriction that such powers shall be exercisable only over that portion of the County- of Whakatane in the Schedule hereto-: The effect of the issue of such Order-in-Gouncil will be that the Whakatane County Council may charge for the ordinary supply (as well as the extraordinary supply) of- water by meter according to the quantity used, in lieu of water rates, made and levied in accordance with the provisions of the Municipal Corporations Act, 1933. All persons affected who object to the proposed method of charging for the ordinary supply of water are hereby notified that any objections in writing to or petitions against the issue of the said Order-in-Coun-cil must be lodged with the Minister of Internal Affairs, Wellington, within one month from the first publication of this notice.
