OTAKIRI DANCE
FAREWELL FUNDS BENEFIT
The dance held in the Otakiri Hall on Tuesday last in aid of Farewell Funds proved an outstanding success. There was a very large attendance, visitors being present from all parts of the district. The hall was gaily decorated and popular music was supplied by the Rotorua Rhythm Pirates Band.
Mr O. Lord again proved an efficient M.C. Several novelty dances were a feature of the evening, the winners of these being Mr C. Evans and Miss Massey, Mr W. Lee and Miss Wilson and Mr I. Jenkins and partner. An item by the Whakatane "Gold Diggers" was much appreciated.
Competitions were won by Miss W. Thatcher, Mrs H. Gresswell airl Mr O. Lord., Supper was served by the committee and many willing helpers. Among those present were members of the committee Mrs Speirs, Mrs Cristall, Mrs Tickner, Mrs Lord.
