CHAMPION SHI P FINALS

The results of the C-lub Championship and other games played over the week-end were'as under:—

Club Championship: Spencc beat flyland 2 and 1. Intermediate: Butler beat Bullard 7 and 6. Junior: Grey beat Svmc 2 up. Founder's Cup: Morpeth beat Spencc 2 and 1. Clarke C-up: Morpeth beat Luxton 3 anjl 2. Knock-out Competition: Moore beat Allan 1 up. The championship match between Spencc and Hyland produced an excellent game in which the margin was close all the way, Spencc being t, up at the 18th and 3 up at the 27th. Hyland reduced this deficit to 2 up at the 28th and no further change occurred until at the 35th hole, which was halved, Spencc won by 2 up and 1 to play.

The game was a great test of match play ability and both players responded to the test splendidly.

In the Intermediate Championship Butler gained an early lead over Bullard and held on to it all the AAvar.3 r . Bullard fought back hard but Butler kept steady and playing excellent golf won at the 32ind hole.

The Junior match between Grey and Syme was another very hard fought game. Grey obtaining a of 5 holes at the 9th whiclj Symc reduced to 3 at the 18th and then played hard golf to reduce this deficit tO' one down at the 36th hole which Grey won thus leaving hiin the winner by 2 up. Syine played nn excellent game in carrying a match, in which he was 5 down early In the game, to the last hole and Grey earned congratulations on his Steadiness in staving off the very determined effort made by Syme to pull the game out of the fire.

Next week-end the Medal Handicap Competition for the Veterans find Colts trophies will he played. The drew for partners will be made nt the Clubhouse as members arrive .
