FAREWELLS TO SOLDIERS

THE outcome of the combined meeting of District Farewell Committees at Awaken last week, should do much towards mending the minor grievances which unfortunately were all too obviously existing. The meeting and comparison of ideas on just how these ceremonies should be conducted in future will clear the air and make for a better and healthier understanding upon this subject, which all parties will agree is one which should be carried out with the fullest co-operation and goodwill. In future therefore we can look forward to a common understanding between districts upon this vital matter for it is the common wish of all that the men going overseas should be given the best that is within our power backed by the cordial spirit of fellowship which will reflect the feeling of the district as a whole.
