WOMEN HERD TESTERS
RESERVE PRACTICALLY EXHAUSTED
ANOTHER COURSE ARRANGED
At the last meeting of Herd l Recording Council
the the
Supervisor, Mr C. M. Hume, reported that the reserve of women testing officers was practically exhausted and it was decided to hold another course at an early date.
Arrangements are proceeding to " hold a course either at Massey Agri- - cultural College, Palmerston North, ■or at Canterbury Agricultural College, Lincoln, with the possibility that courses will be arranged at "'■both institutions;, the tentative dates being Tuesday 11th to Saturday 29th "November, 1941.
A selection of approximately 30 students will be made from country women between the ages of 20 and 35 years, preferably with dairy farm Educational qualificatrai'lnust be at least proficiency Standard. The women will be accommodated at the College Hostel at a cost of 30/-: per week. This must be paid by the student.
The Dairy Board will pay. firstclass, return boat fare, second-class returii raihvay fare, return service car fare and all tuition fees. Students selected, from the South Island must give an undertaking that they will undertake positions in the North Island when offered.
Local women interested are advised that full particulars may be from Mr G. R. Kent, and that he will accept applications up to October 9.
