CRICKET IN THE BAY

RANGITAIKI HOLDS ANNUAL

MEETING

Those- present at the annual general meeting *>f the Rangitaiki Cricket Association held in the Awakerl Hall on Thursday last were unanimous in their decision to "carry on" this season in spite of the war so greatly depleting the ranks. The meeting was enthusiastic wilh P. and T., Paroa, Central and Hillcrest delegates present. Tancatua was not represented owing to their delegates' inability to attend. In the absence of the president, Mr O. V. Marks presided. The report and balance sheet were read and adopted, the report revealing that the last season had been an enjoyable one and the credit in the finances being pleasing. Election of Officers The election of officers for the ensuing season resulted as follows : Patron: Mr G. H. Burnett.. President: Mr R. H. CI eland (reelected) .

Vice-presidents: Messrs K. Day, B. S. Grant, H. A. Horrocks, A. J. Moore, J. H. Gillam, H. A. Wardlaw, (all re-elected) and J. D. Rivett, S. C. Thomas, A. Hayter, N, M.: Brcmncr, W. Alexander, and H. C. McGrcadv.

Secretary and Treasurer: Mr 01.O 1 . V.

Auditor: Mr H. G. Warren (reelected) .

Delegates to Bay of Plenty Association: Messrs Rigden, Bennett, L. R. Spring, H. G. Warren, the president and secretary.

Management Committee: Messrs L. Bennett and Rigden were elected, other clubs having not yet nominated their members being asked to do so as soon as possible.

On the motion of Mr J. D. Rivet I' it was decided to forward a letter ot thanks to the Borough Council for their generosity in cutting the grass at the Domain and expressing the hope that they would do so again this season.

Members overseas are to be sent Christmas greetings on the suggestion of Mr H. G• Warren. The season is to open officially on October 12, the same hours of play 9.45 a.m. to 3 p.m.' —to be ob-
