Meeting Lapses. A meeting convened by Mr S. Mayow, of Whakatane, which Avas to have been held in the County Council Chambers on Monday night for the purpose of discussing the "New Zealand Society for Closer Relations with Russia" lapsed, only four people being present. The small attendance was possibly due to the fact that there had been some confusion caused regarding the place of meeting. The object of the meeting, it was stated by the convenor, was to make arrangements for a public meeting at which a visiting speaker would be present.
