WEDDING BELLS

JESSOP—DULEY

A picturesque Avedding Avas celebrated at the Methodist Church at 1 o'clock on Saturday, June 28, Avlien Lila Maureen, only daughter of Mr and Mrs A. T. Duley, of Whakatane, Avas married to Robert Frances, eldest son of Mr and Mrs Jessop, of Opotilci. The Rev. G. V. Thomas officiated, and Mrs DarAall Avas at the organ. Entering the church on the arm of her father the bride looked charming in a beautiful gOAvn of ivory satin. The gown Avas cut on graceful lines Avitli embossed yoke and shoulders, the simple neck line being finished Avith pearl which also outlined the hem of the graceful train. The sleeves Avere tight fitting with points over the hands. A billowy embossed tulle veil Avas arranged from a halo of orange blossom and she Avore dainty iA r ory satin shoes. She carried a sheaf of Arum lilies. The bridesmaids Avere Miss Maureen Clemence, of Auckland, cousin of the bride, and Miss GAven Graeff, of Whakatane. Both very charming in frocks of hyacinth blue morain taffeta with full flared skirts and bustle hips, the neck line being horse shoe shaped and full puff sleeves Avere favoured. Both Avore Cameo lockets on black velvet ribbon which added much charm to the frocks and silver shoes while they carried beautiful bouquets of pink and maize Iceland poppies and maiden-hair fern respectively. Their headdresses were topnots of matching flo Avers.

Mr A. B. Clark, R.N.Z.A.F., acted as best man, Mr M. Diiley, the bride's brother being groomsman.

After the ceremony a reception was held at the Commercial Hotel, where Mrs Duley the bride's mother, and Mrs Jessop, mother of the bridegroom, received some 50 guests.

Mrs Duley had chosen a smart frock in cinnamon, light weight avool with matching accessories and carried a posy of pansies. Mrs Jessop was frocked in a black ensemble and carried a posy of violets. Later the happy couple left on their honeymoon, the bride travelling in a French grey frock and navy accessories.
