WOMEN'S INSTITUTE
WAIMANA GARDENING CIRCLE
Members of the Waimana-Nuki*-Uou Women's Institute gardening circle, held their monihly meeting at the Waimana Church last Wednesday afternoon. Apologies were received from members not able to attend. Members worked in the church grounds clearing grass and planting shrubs and hedge cuttings. jNLr Wyart Addison came along \vi!h ft spade iind gave very valuable assistance, which was much appreciated., Afternoon tea was served by Mrs Wylde and" Mirs King, and Mrs J. Ward law acted as judge for the competitions. The competitions were: Bowl of mixed daffodils arranged for effect, Mrs Elagle 1, Mrs Stevenson 2, Mrs Hughes Best dower, Mrs Stevenson 1, Mrs 1 "Wylde 2, Mrs Hughes 3. Best vegetable, Mrs King 1, Mrs Hughes 2, Miss Hughes 3. The next meeting will be held at Mrs Mannion's home, and to commence at 1.30 p.m. Mrs A'ddison thanked the hostesses, judge and all for their help which closed the successful afternoon.
