LOCAL BODIES UNANIMOUSLY IN FAVOUR

ELECTRICITY. FOR ROTORUA

A further full meeting of the members of both the Rotorua Borough and County Councils, together with delegates from the Rotorua Chamber of Commerce, was held in the Town Hall last week regarding the proposal to form an Electric Power Board in that district when a unanimous resolution that, in the opinion of those present, formation of a power board in the district was desirable, was passed. A small committee consisting of the Mayor, Mr H. D. Dansey, Mr H. P. Ford, chairman of the County Council, and Mr R. A,. Porter, representing the Chamber of Commerce, was set up to further the proposal.

The Miayor presided over the meeting, which was called at the request of the Rotorua Chamber of Commerce, which has been actively engaged in the possible formation of an electric power board in Rotorua for some years.
