SHALFOON SHIELD RUGBY TROPHY TO BE RETURNED TO TAURANGA Advice has been given by the secretary of the Tauranga Rugby SubUnion to the effect that the protest lodged by Tauranga following the Shalfcon Shield match which was played on August 30 between Opotiki and Tauranga at Tauranga, has been allowed by the Bay of Plenty Rugby Union and that the Shield is to be returned to Tauranga. The protest was made on the ground that Opotiki, which Avon the game by 10 points to (J, played a senior representative. Rotorua, had previously challenged for the shield and this game will be played at Tauranga next Saturday.
